As the semester progresses, the Catholic Schools of the Diocese have been bustling with exciting activities! Both boys’ and girls’ basketball seasons are winding down, bringing an end to spirited competitions. Students have been eagerly engaging in their classes, exploring subjects ranging from cooking to Spanish with enthusiasm. There have been many smiles as students were visited by Pediatric Dentistry, but the biggest smiles came from celebrating Leap Day on the 29th in this unique year!

Valentines Day, Ash Wednesday, and 100 Days of School!!πβοΈπ€
It was a bustling week for the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Rockville Centre! Students celebrated Valentine’s Day by exchanging homemade cards and treats with friends and teachers! The excitement continued with the spirited observance of the 100th day of school, featuring crafts and lively costumes inspired by grandparents. Amidst basketball games, Mardi Gras festivities, and abundant learning, the week took on a special significance with the start of Lent. Students received ashes during mass and delved into the significance of this period leading up to Easter!
Who is St. Scholastica?
St. Scholastica is venerated as the patron saint of nuns, education, and convulsive children. Her feast day is celebrated on February 10th. The life and legacy of St. Scholastica continue to inspire those who seek a life of devotion, prayer, and spiritual growth within Catholicism. Her legacy lives on through the Benedictine nuns and the numerous individuals inspired by her commitment to a life of prayer, humility, and service to God.
