Thank you for your interest in Catholic education! Our administrators and faculty look forward to welcoming you into our wonderful elementary schools. You may be wondering how students can enroll in our schools. I commend you for already taking the first step by picking up this brochure.
Introduce yourself. Contact any schools that interest you. Tell the principal about your family and what you are looking for in a school. Our principals are waiting for your call!
Visit Schools. Make an appointment for a school tour. During your tour, ask any questions you have about the school’s programs as well as anything else of importance to you. At this time, you will also be informed of the school’s admissions process.
Ask the hard questions. After visiting and comparing schools, parents often have new questions, doubts, and perhaps assumptions. Make that 2nd phone call or schedule 1-on-1 meetings with the principals. They will gladly answer tough questions!
Apply for financial aid. If you are concerned about affordability, consider the work of the Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation to support Catholic education on Long Island (page 10). It is important to apply for financial aid early! Application for the following year opens in January.
Most importantly: pray! Ask God to lead you to the school that will best serve your family.
Once again, I thank you for considering Catholic education for your child. May God bless you as you take this journey and in all that you do!
Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Pamela Sanders
Superintendant of Schools
