This morning Catholics around the world united to pray for peace, to pray for the people of Ukraine and Russia. Throughout March, our schools have led age-appropriate activities and prayers for the Ukrainian people.
Our Lady of Peace School, Lynbrook, NY
Our Lady of Peace School sponsored an “out of uniform” day to raise money for the people of Ukraine. Instead of uniforms, the students dressed in yellow and blue and made beautiful Ukraine flags. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School, Bellmore, NY
Students at SEAS collected supplies for Ukraine, which were gathered and delivered by Nassau County. SEAS fourth graders loaded a van on two different days! Also, in the classroom, young students made peace doves and peace sunflowers to hang on their classroom walls as reminders to pray for the Ukrainian people. — Principal Leeann Graziose

Students colored flags, crests, and sunflowers as part of our Prayers for Peace installation. Middle schoolers wrote prayers for peace on the wall with the colors of the Ukrainian flag.

Maria Regina in Seaford, NY
On March 16th Maria Regina alumnus Kevin Seery (Class of 2010) returned to Maria Regina School. Kevin is currently serving as a 1st Lieutenant with the Army Rangers. He visited Ms. Teja’s Middle School History classes and discussed his army career thus far, as well as the current crisis in Ukraine.
